Where has the year gone?

Wow!  It's hard to believe 2009 is almost over.  Seems like we were in Florida just a few months ago doing a 12-show run, but it we actually left Michigan in February.  We going a bit earlier in 2010, leaving right after Christmas for another 12-show schedule running through the end of February, 2010.  We are really looking forward to the warmer weather even though we have no complaints about the mild weather we've been experiencing right here at home.  We've had a good year in spite of the challenging economics, and we keep thinking things can only get better as we go forward.

Keep checking our website to get updates on our schedule.  We'll be in Florida in January and February, then back to Michigan for 1 show in early March, then we head to Mexico for vacation during the last two weeks in March.  Can't wait!  Our weekly show schedule will resume in April, 2010.

Just a reminder, our Dream Stones gemstone pendants make great gift items!  If you can't come to us at a local art show you can still purchase these through our online shop, click here to browse the assortment.  In the meantime, we send our best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season!  We look forward to seeing you soon.

Warm regards,

Carl Schneider

Home Parties

We regularly get asked; "Do you do home parties?"  The answer is "Yes!"  We currently do not  have any information on our website about Home Parties, but here's how it works...  Our hostess plan offers a $25 credit for hosting a party, another $25 for every $300 purchased, and another $25 for each additional party booked.  (To be used at the time of booking.)  What a great way to help pay for that "must have" piece you've been looking to buy, or start your Holiday shopping!

We're happy to bring our collection to you.  From gemstone pendants and earrings, to high-fashion necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.  You might find "similar" jewelry at Vivre.com, but nothing really compares to what Carl offers in style, color, and value.  For more information please contact us through our "Contact" link on the home page of our website, www.clschneider.com.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Did you know?

Did you know you can purchase our gemstone pendants, or "Dream Stones" on our website?  It may not be obvious from our home page, but we offer a limited assortment of pendants for sale right on our site.  We will continue to add new pendants as they become available.  As many of these are unique offerings, they may not be available again once they are sold out.  So if one of these beautiful gemstones catches your eye, you may want to buy it soon before it sells out.

Did you know you can also purchase any of the C.L. Schneider Collection pieces?  Even though the collection items are not set up to "add to your cart" like Dream Stones, they may still be available for purchase.  Simply send us an email through our Contact page and ask us about availability.  Carl also designs custom pieces, and in most cases can design coordinated pieces, like a great pair of earrings to compliment the necklace you are interested in.

While our website is fairly new, watch for additional Dream Stones items such as necklaces, earrings, and bracelets.  Thanks for your interest in C.L. Schneider Jewelry!

What we've been up to...

Whew!  The last couple of weekends have been a bit crazy.  We did two shows over the Labor Day weekend.  Saturday & Sunday we did a small, but very nice, art show in Port Austin, MI, called Art in the Park, sponsored by the Thumb Arts Guild.  We didn't know what to expect from this hidden gem of a show, and honestly, it was very good!  Even though it's a small show there was a high-quality variety of artwork available, such as jewelry (of course), pottery, photography,  paintings, wood, and more.  To top off the weekend, Carl won a First Place Blue Ribbon award for his Moonstone, Coral, and Pearl necklace! He was not only surprised, but very honored to accept the award.  With excellent sales and perfect weather both Saturday and Sunday, what more could you ask?

On Labor Day we did a one-day show in Franklin, MI.  This was our second year doing this delightful show.  The attendance was even better than last year, and we were very fortunate the rain held off until the end of the day.  We had just finished packing the van when the rain let loose.  All in all, we had an excellent 3 days.  Lots of work but well worth the effort.

This past weekend we had another successful event at Art & Apples in Rochester, MI.  Last year was the first year they added Friday evening to the schedule, so the show now runs Friday through Sunday.  Once again the weather was absolutely beautiful all weekend.  Attendance at the show was phenomenal, with estimates of 125,000 patrons.

With all that said, I must say that one of our favorite things about doing art shows is meeting our customers.  It's really a pleasure to connect with so many new acquaintances every weekend.  We're looking forward to this weekend at the Lac Ste. Claire Fine Art Fair, located in Veterans Memorial Park at Jefferson & Masonic in St. Clair Shores, MI.  Show hours are 10 am - 5 pm both days.

Stay in touch!

Welcome!

Welcome to C.L Schneider's blog!  Carl Schneider is a jewelry designer and artist, creating handcrafted semi-precious gemstone jewelry.  We hope you will enjoy reading our blog.  Our intent is to keep you updated with Carl's new jewelry creations, our travels, website updates, and any other news that might be of interest.

Our most recent excursion took us to York, Pennsylvania. (Home to the Harley-Davidson Motor Company.)   While the drive to York was very intense with some of the heaviest rain we've experienced, we took a short detour to tour Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water.  What an amazing place!  If you are not familiar with the architecture and story, be sure to visit the website at www.fallingwater.org.

While in York we participated in the Yorkfest Art Festival held in historic Downtown York.  This juried show was created over 20 years ago by area artists who wanted to display their work along the Codorus River in historic Downtown York, Yorkfest now showcases the works of 100 artists from around the country to affluent art lovers from Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Central Pennsylvania.  We found the city to be very charming, with several excellent restaurants and lots of history.  From 1777 to 1778, York served as the Capital of the United States and home of the Second Continental Congress.  We only wish we would have had more time to explore the city.

Stay tuned, we have a busy weekend ahead and will have more to share!
